- Hannah came and it snowed!
- Said snow initiated a winter wonderland walk through the woods; it was great. We got all bundled up, grabed our cameras and set out in our rainboots. It did involve a few near-death experiences as rainboots aren't extremely firm on ice, but we both lived to tell the story.
- We got a little bit bored of sitting in the house all day, so we decided to be a little creative and made chocolate truffles in five different flavours (double chocolate, almond, coconut, peanut butter, and vanilla) and dough boys which were more delicious than ever!
- On a Friday we packed our bags (the contents of which included the chocolates, clementines, dough boys, and the makings for hot chocolate), hopped on a train (or three), and headed up to Heidelberg for some christmas cheer and happy times. Favourite traveler = a guy wearing corduroys heald up by bright yellow suspenders and carrying around a double bass without a case, but held together in certian spots by duct tape! So good! Our visit also included trying to find warm places at the christmas market, shopping/store hopping to stay warm, loving the snowfall (which I have decided should be called snow shine because it sounds nicer), a hike up the mountain where we found old celtic ruins, a monastery, a watch tower, and a huge stadium (that holds over 8000 people!) where the Nazis had youth rallies. Sadly, part of the trip was also saying good bye to Amity and sending her off to the good ol' US of A.
- Back in Basel, now with a group of three, we found the house fully decked out in Christmas cheer, managed to get through Christmas (Hannah kindly jumped in to sing with us at church on Christmas morning since the whole "band", consisting of my sister and myself, was not feeling good but very croaky) and birthdays, made it through the days after christmas with activities such as knitting (I made a hat!), reading for fun, eating, decorating a cake, watching many movies and episodes of scrubs, sledding in the Alps (= awesome! Except for the snow in our faces, obstructing our ability to see...), a attempt to go to the cinema, skype-ing with friends afar, a day of riding public transportation and ending up at IKEA, did I mention movies?
- On New Years Eve we decided to cook a four course dinner for the rest of the gang, which apparently was delicious. We didn't actually make enough for us try much of it, but we got good reports. The extravaganza included a chocolate souffle (which none of us had ever tried to make before) that was to die for!
- Enjoyed fake champagne, confetti shooters, table bombs, and at least 5 minutes of sparkly delight in the yard with jumbo sparklers, merely minutes after the beginning of 2010.

Now where did I put that tissue?
Sophie and Hannah came for Christmas/New Years! It was so wonderful and we went on fabulous adventures. I'll try to recall all (or maybe just most) of them for you:
