Could you explain that in Hochdeutsch please?

This weekend was full of wonderful times with wonderful friends. Said times included the following events:

• A ride on the ferry that crosses the Rhine river through Basel on a beautiful fall evening.
  

• A visit to the Basel paper museum, which is not nearly as dull as it may sound!We made our own paper, write letters with feathers and ink pots, fold the letters into envelopes, and have them sealed with colorful wax and the seal of our choice!
  
  
• Building a ginger bread house (dead witch included)
  
  
  
• The ever so exciting Christmas Bazaar
  
  
  
  
  
• Getting relatively cheap but really good seats to the ballet.
